The blood groups and diets

Here is a very interesting piece of information about the blood groups and diets. For blood group 0, it advises meat based diet and for blood group A,  a vegetarian diet. Jo’s blood group is 0 Rh+ and he loves eating meat whereas mine is A Rh+ and I’m a veggie lover.

Also the veggies (cabbage, cauliflower..etc) to eat moderately for blood group 0 has made me chuckle since Jo doesn’t like them at all and I  try all my tricks to conceal the tastes with other dominant ingredients to make him eat. I don’t know if any of these are true or not but some parts has made a lot of sense to me.

O group: This was the first blood group to be recognized. This group is supposed to have evolved with our huntsmen ancestors around the 50,000 B.C. They ate a lot of meat, thus people with this particular blood group can eat a protein rich meat based diet. Their diet must be a low-carbohydrate, high-protein diet. Their diet must include a lot of meat, fish and should exclude dairy products, grains, and wheat.

Eat excessively – Meat, fish, seafood, olive oil
Eat moderately – Seeds, nuts, eggs, certain vegetatables (cabbage, cauliflower, brussels sprouts)
Totally restrict eating – Beans, cereals, dairy products, rice, pasta, and wheat products.

People belonging to this blood group should be physically active and should involve themselves in aerobic exercises, running etc., they should be as busy as our huntsmen ancestors were.

A group: This was the next group to be identified around 15,000 B.C. People then learnt farming and were not dependant only on meat from hunting. They included a lot of vegetarian food in their diet. According to this diet plan, people with this blood group should adhere to a vegetarian diet schedule.

Eat excessively – Vegetables, fruit, nuts, seeds, pasta, cereals, beans, and rice
Eat moderately– Meat and dairy products

People belonging to this blood group must follow exercises that will calm them and their mind. It is suggested they practice yoga and play golf.

B group: Next blood group to be identified, B blood group was identified around 10,000 B.C. Our forefathers by this time started to travel extensively; leading the life of nomads and were eating anything they found. People with this blood group can usually eat any type of food. They can eat anything from dairy, meat, vegetables to grains, of their choice.

Eat excessively – Can eat all types of food
Eat moderately – Nuts, seeds, and any carbohydrate-rich food
Totally restrict – Eating processed food

One out of ten persons has this blood group; people with this blood group have to do a lot of exercise that includes some thought process too. This is because our ancestors with this blood group did a lot of thinking, thus activities like swimming, tennis, hiking etc are recommended for their fitness schedule.

AB group: The last group to be identified in this series, it was identified 1,000 years ago. This blood group is very rare and people with this blood group can eat a combination of food from the A and B blood group.
Eat excessively – Vegetables, fruits and anything vegetarian
Eat moderately – Meat, fish, and dairy products

People with this blood group have to do a combination of calming exercises and vigorous exercises, a combination of the blood group ‘A’ and ‘B’. Vigorous exercises have to be done in moderation.

2nd wedding anniversary

Today we have celebrated our 2nd anniversary. Jo chose a great place, I definitely loved it. It  was a complete suprise for me as I didn’t know where we were going until we arrived. Everything was fantastic; the atmosphere, food, service and decorations.

The Al Dana restaurant where Jo took me is in the Sharq Villaga & Spa Resort which is a recreation of a Sheikh’s palace. It was built around an ancient Qatari fishing village. The Sharq Village & Spa’s design reflects the communities of fishermen, pearl divers and merchants. It is also equipped with modern facilities and amenities. There are spa and fitness centre, ballrooms, conference rooms, hotel, a private beach and diners in it.

The Al Dana restaurant we have been to is only one of them. It has a got a terrace where you can see the sea but the terrace is open only in winters. While entering the restaurant you walk past the show  kitchen and sushi counter and you can get the fresh smells of them. Inside the restaurant blue glass has been widely used to reflect Doha’s marine life. Local patterns and traditional colours such as gold, bronze, copper and brown have been used in the furnishings.

Upon seeing the table they prepared for us, the only word came out of my mouth was a big WOW. It was situated towards the window where you can see outside through a glass wall. There were 2 big hearts made with  white and red roses on our table accompanied with candles and a big bowl made of blue glass and inside floating orchids.

They held our chairs and even laid the napkins on our laps. I had compliments from the waiter who was serving us. He told me how sexy I was and I ended up blushing of course. I couldn’t help thinking Jo might have paid him to say these words, too. 😉

At the end of the dinner I saw a cake with a big fire on it going around the tables. I thought it must be someone’s birthday or something but it ended up on our table. Suddenly I realized all the waiters around our table saying HAPPY ANNIVERSARY to us. Blushing again, I looked at Jo and he promised he didn’t have any idea. I don’t like taking that much attention upon me as a shy person. Luckily there weren’t many people in the restaurant. 🙂 We took the cake home with us since we had been already full when they brought the cake.

It has been a wonderful day and I will never forget it. The best 2nd wedding anniversary ever and I’m looking forward to the others!!!

Inland sea trip

We had a lovely weekend with friends out. On Friday we had a brunch together with a bunch of people from Jo’s work. It was a gathering for a birthday. This time I went for the Middle Eastern food and desserts including some Turkish.  On Saturday was an inland sea trip, Jo’s second and my first one. We went through the desert, not deep inside just the side of it. It was 36 degrees when we started our journey at 7 in the morning and on our way back it reached up to 46 degrees around 11 am.

I had the chance to see some parts of the dessert first time and Jo enjoyed driving around, over sand dunes in his new car. He was dying to try his jeep in the desert. Suprisingly I enjoyed it very much, too  jumping on sand dunes and some speed. Motorways have always made me sick and sharp turnings also. So I never expected something like that. I loved it! Now I can’t wait to learn driving. 😉

Sea was nice enough to swim in, so blue so cool despite the burning hot weather. I had to run away to the car after a while under the sun. Even if I didn’t stand under the sun too much, I’m already pinkish and a little bit sore on my shoulders and neck. The sun is very strong and you can easily get burnt without realising.

We made it home after 12 and both of us fell asleep right away as we started the day at 6 am in the morning. After all, well spent and pleasant weekend for both of us and hopefully for the other people we were with, too.

Lailat al Miraj (Miraç Kandili)

Today muslims are celebrating the day of the Prophet Muhammad’s ascent into the heavens and this journey is known as the Miraj.  Lailat al Miraj, Miraç Kandili in Turkish, is one of the most important event in the Islamic calendar.

The Isra begins with the Prophet Muhammad resting in the Kaabba in Mecca, when the archangel Gabriel comes to him, and brings him the winged steed Buraq, the traditional lightning steed of the prophets. The Buraq then carries the Prophet Muhammad to the “Masjid Al Aqsa”, which according to The Prophet himself, reported in Hadith by several narrators, equates with “the Noble Sanctuary” (Temple Mount) in Jerusalem. The Prophet Muhammad alights, tethers Buraq, and joins other prophets in prayer. He then re-mounts Buraq, and in the second part of the journey, the Mi’raj, is taken to the heavens, where he tours the circles of heaven, and speaks with the earlier prophets such as Abraham, Moses, and Jesus, and then is taken by Gabriel to Allah. Allah instructs the Prophet Muhammad that Muslims must pray fifty times a day; however, Moses tells Muhammad that it is very difficult for them and they could never do it, and urges Muhammad to go back several times and ask for a reduction, until finally it is reduced to five times a day.

After the Prophet Muhammad returned to Earth and tells his story in Mecca, the unbelieving townspeople regard it as absurd. Some go to the Prophet Muhammad’s companion Abu Bakr and tell him, “Look at what your companion is saying. He says he went to Jerusalem and came back in one night.” Abu Bakr in replies, “If he said that, then he is truthful. I believe him concerning the news of the heavens — that an angeldescends to him from the heavens. How could I not believe he went to Jerusalem and came back in a short period of time — when these are on earth?” It was for this that Abu Bakr is said to have received his famous title “Us-Siddiq”, The Truthful.
